Saturday I went on an adventure with my friend, Marie. She said her brother, who is a music teacher, raved about this band that was in town. We had never heard of the band, Brave Combo, which billed itself as a cross between polka, jazz, rock, and tex-mex. I found out later they won the Grammy for best polka album.We drove downtown Grand Rapids to this little bar where I got carded at the door. But, once they started playing I knew I was going to like them. They have a great energy. You really want to dance and I did on one song. And they really know how to play their instruments.
